Pennsylvania
Middle Colonies
1681
Pennsylvania was started by a Quaker named William Penn. The Quakers believed in brotherly love, and made friends with the Indians quickly. King Charles II gave Penn a portion of land in the New Land, to pay for a debt that he owed William's father. The land that the King gave this Quaker was the land of Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Of course, the soon to be states but not really that soon, weren't named yet. Penn traveled to America immediately, and then went to Pennsylvania, and made peace with the Indians and started a town, he also created the city of Philadelphia. He also made improvements to the land of Delaware. William Penn had finally helped his religion greatly.
