Delaware was part of the land that William Pen received. Delaware was part of Pennsylvania from 1682 to 1701. In Delaware they planted wheat, barley, Indian corn, and peas. They also raised animals that could be used for food, like pigs, sheep, goats, and a few other animals. There were many jobs in Delaware, but mainly in farming and trading.
